Orla is from Shannon, Co Clare and this is her second year on news2day. A graduate of Journalism and New Media at The University of Limerick, she specialised in TV Journalism and received an award for Best Television Documentary for her Final Year Project. Before news2day Orla was a presenter on Spin South West radio station, a singer at Bunratty Castle and a piano teacher – bit of a multi-tasker! She has a great love of music and she regularly takes to the stage in different musical theatre productions. Orla would say her greatest achievement so far was representing her county and ultimately winning the The Maiden of the Mournes competition in 2011. Follow news2day on Twitter: @news2dayRTE.

Nick Sheridan, the newest member of the news2day team, comes from Co. Wexford. He went to St. Senan’s Primary School in Enniscorthy, and then St. Peter’s College in Wexford town. After his Leaving Cert in 2010, Nick studied Journalism in Dublin City University before working as a journalist and researcher in Newstalk 106-108, and TV3. Nick loves to read, sing, cook, swim, watch TV, and random fact, he can play a mean tune on the fiddle! His favourite subject in school was History, his least favourite: probably Maths! Nick is big into film and film-making, and in 2009 was named Young Irish Film-Maker of the Year, travelling to South Korea to attend the Seoul International Youth Film Festival. Nick’s favourite bands include Florence and the Machine, The Killers, Muse and The National, and his karaoke song is “Wuthering Heights” by Kate Bush. Follow news2day on Twitter: @news2dayRTE.
