From Clare to Cork, Limerick to Sligo and back to the capital.
Voters have been casting their ballots today in the two referendums on same sex marriage and whether or not to reduce the age at which someone can become a candidate for President.
In many areas turnout is said to be higher than in the last referendum on the abolition of the Seanad which took place in 2013.

In Dublin, turnout was put at 30% by 3pm this afternoon. In areas in Tipperary, Waterford, Galway, Wexford, Limerick, Clare, Laois and Offaly turnout is as high as the late twenties in the same time.
Polling officials have noted that more young voters than usual are casting their ballots
The polls close at 10 o’clock tonight and the count will begin tomorrow morning at nine am.
