news2day Christmas Art Competition is back!

Ho Ho Ho! The news2day Christmas Art Competition is back again this year. This year’s theme is Celebrating Christmas 2020! The winner gets to switch on the RTÉ Christmas Lights LIVE on news2day on November 27th.

Your design could depict what you think Christmas 2020 is going to be like… or what you hope Christmas 2020 will be like. Imagine in years to come, you could be telling your children what it was like to celebrate Christmas in a year like no other.

The winning primary school pupil must be available to turn on the Christmas Lights live on news2day at RTÉ on Friday the 27th of November, but if the winner can’t travel due to restrictions we will come to you. So get drawing!

All we want for Christmas is to see all your wonderful artwork, and there’s a lot to sort through- so send us a drawing or painting that’s no bigger than an A3 sheet of paper. 3D artwork will not be eligible for the prize..

Post your entry to news2day, RTÉ, Donnybrook, Dublin 4 – it has to get to us before noon on Friday the 20th of November. With Covid-19 An Post are very under pressure so make sure you pop it in the post box in plenty of time.

It’s very important that you include your name, age, address and a daytime phone number.

That means you’ve less than three weeks to get your artwork in – so get cracking!

We received thousands of drawings last year, and the winner was Colin Murray from Thurles, his picture of people around the dinner table was a big hit with the chief judge Bryan Dobson who said the detail in the art was fantastic.

You could be turning on the Christmas Lights live on RTE2 just send in a drawing or painting no bigger than A3 – on the theme of Celebrating Christmas 2020. Good luck – we can’t wait to see them.
