Gill Stedman

Gill is from Greystones, Co. Wicklow. She studied Journalism at the Dublin Institute of Technology and specialised in Broadcast Journalism at the University of Missouri in the USA. After graduating, Gill was a newsreader and reporter for a number of radio stations including Dublin’s 98FM, SPIN and her local station East Coast FM. Gill is a bit of an adventurer, and loves to travel and explore new cities. She takes her camera everywhere, never missing a photo op! Gill literally could not live without music and movies, and she recently met and interviewed one of her on-screen heroes, the amazing Julie Andrews, AKA Mary Poppins!! Follow news2day on Twitter: @news2dayRTE.

Tommy Meskill

Tommy is from Ennis, Co.Clare, and is the newest recruit to the news2day team. He went to school at Barefield National School and then Rice College. After secondary school Tommy went to Dublin City University, where he studied Communication Studies. During his time at DCU he worked as an intern with Clare FM. After completing his degree he worked as a newsreader with Spirit Radio, East Coast FM and then became a reporter at FM104.

Tommy learned to play piano as a kid, but wasn’t great at practicing. He’s hoping to pick it up again in the near future!

He loves to swim and keep active. His favorite trip was to Ghana in Africa, where he did volunteer work with friends from college and he’s looking for an opportunity to return.

Tommy loves spending time with friends and travelling back to his family in Clare.
